Willy Taelman (Bouwel) wins Bourges National 2003 yearlings...
   
  Willy Taelman of Bouwel, a part of Grobbendonk, is the winner on Bourges national 2003 with 16.244 yearlings in the race.
A very sympathy man, who was more then 20 year representant of the people, now retired, can say that politics and to race with pigeons is not easy to combine. Lucky for Willy there was every time the help of the neighbour Marc Van Thielen, where he could count every day and night as well for the administration as for the take care of the pigeons.
In the mean time Willy Taelman enjoy very much the pigeons sport. His daughter follow now already here father and she's doing very well.
When Willy was young he was already interested in pigeons. He learned every thing with their uncles. But in 1970 he started on his own. He gets some pigeons from Maurice Van de Velde of Schoonderbeuken and these pigeons paired up with Hubert Aerts (Westmeerbeek) and Thielen Frans (Bouwel) and a hen from Remy Demey (Booischot) were the start. And it is still from this strain that is on the base of the success in Bouwel. Willy bought everywhere some pigeons and he lost his own old strain, and he lost a lot of school fee.
But lucky there was again Maurice Van de Velde who give him the new blood and his old strain (what was still left) give the good injection.
Willy Taelman likes very much the Little Long Distance, races till 800 km. He chooses the races that the pigeons can come back the same day.
  "De Blauwe Jan" 02/6334254, blue cock, born in April, as youngster of the 3rd round was bought as gift by Goris Jan of Westerlo. And it is this cock who wins 1 National Bourges.
Willy Taelman basketed only 3 pigeons for Bourges. The yearling who win the national and 2 old pigeons, who are in the top prize, it was party in Bouwel

A regular prize winner, but now on Bourges the flowers. A strong motivation through extend his territorial and to put intruder were on the base of this beautiful success.
A small colony with many lofts with a few pigeons, 12 widowhoods wherefrom 5 old, 7 yearling (in the meantime reduced till 3). These pigeons fly normally 2 times Quevrain, 1 time Noyon, 2 times Dourdan and then further till the short long distance with also Bourges.
In the morning and the evening they have to train for 1 hour with closed windows. No obligated training as with Maurice Van de Velde, where Willy Taelman has to thank so many things.
But not everything is good … also not with Willy Taelman. The young birds aren't doing good this year … With the start all looked very good but after a very bad Dourdan Willy is ailing and he has respiratory problemsIn the mean time they do a very strong treatment and they hope all is gone now.
The moral of this weekend (Bourges National). To buy gifts for young pigeons is not every time a bad investment …if you have trust in the fancier who give the gift then there is a possibility that you are treat good and correct. The 1 National bourges 2003 old pigeons, and also the most fast of more then 74.000 pigeons, with Jean Luc Bar in Arlon, beside the 1 National Bourges 2003 yearling with our guest Willy Taelman of Bouwel, both are a good example.
