| Edmond
Meyfroyd, 56 years, plays since 1 year together
with his son Ludovic from Bray and they already
won a national race.
Their blue yearling "337" was the fastest
of all yearling pigeons.
Edmond played already whit the pigeons before,
but he stopped because he didn't had enough
time. Since 2 years he restarted with pigeons
and he
got pigeons from some friends, but since his
visit on the pigeon market in Lier he's back
again a full-time pigeon fancier.
The grand-father, Alphonse Meyfroyd, played
already in Binche. He was a very successful
pigeon fancier
on the short distance races.
In the spring of 2000, Edmond bought on the
pigeon market in Lier, 4 young birds from
Sylvain Ruymen,
an amateur of Nieuwerkerken (St.-Truiden).
He lost 2 of them during the training-flights,
but 2 brothers were unbeatable since
the first races. One of the 2 brothers became
the 1st
National winner of Limoges.
The "blue 337" - ring 5047337/01- arrived
at 17H21 and his checquered brother - ring 5047336/01
- arrived at 19H00 when Edmond already was left. The
Limoges winner is a very beautiful pigeon, with
soft feathers,…
From the 7th of July until the 29th
of September, he won 11 (single)
prizes as a young bird
and this season he won the 3rd of
601 pigeons on
Soissons, the 17th of 247 on Etampes,
the 10th of 125 pigeons on Toury,
the 15th
of 647 pigeons
on Orleans, the 56th of 831 pigeons
on
Bourges, the 46th of 2780 on Châteauroux and the
142nd of 455 on La Souterraine before winning
the 1st national prize on Limoges.
He was coupled in February and he
raised 2 youngsters before he went
on widowhood.
Those
2 youngsters
won already some prizes on the
1st races for young birds this year…
